	Classic AMCAR'S SRT6! - (Top Fifteen Pictures) A traditional V8 is what most of us would prefer, but when a client who loves sixes approached Classic AMCAR to build an SRT8 look-alike with Dodge's world class 3.5 litre V6, we obliged with the special order car shown here. Inside and out, from creature comforts to a growling dual exhaust, the 250 BHP SRT6 delivers - Style, Luxury, Refinement, Performance AND Great Gas Mileage, an ideal combination! Classic Design Concepts - (Bottom Three Pictures) CDC (based in Novi, Michigan), supercharged their Dodge Challenger SRT-8, raising output to a healthy claimed 560 HP. Also included is an adjustable suspension system from PW, exhaust from Pypes Performance and a big brake upgrade by Baer. The CDC body kit includes composite front fenders, rear flares, a stainless front grille, a lightweight aluminum hood sporting a cold air intake shaker and 20 inch alloys wheels.
	Vanishing Point Revisited
	In March 1971, petrol-heads around the world were treated to a 99 min extravaganza, with the release of Richard C. Sarafian's cult movie "Vanishing Point". Viewers were kept on the edge of their seats watching Kowalski evade the persuit by the "Blue Meenies" (traffic cops) as he raced to deliver a supercharged 1970 Dodge Challenger from Denver, Colorado to San Fransisco, California - in less than 15 hours! Who could have forseen the dramatic finale... VIDEO. Kowalski (actor Barry Newman) reprises his role behind the wheel of a hot Challenger - this time a 2009 SRT8. Motor Trend's Arthur St. Antoine interviews Barry Newman to get his take on the new rendition of Dodge's iconic Challenger.
	Phoenix Rises from the Ashes...
	Pentastar (project Phoenix) Engines: Chrysler V6 Engines for 2011 and Beyond... Dodge plans to endow Challenger with two new Vee-Sixes from the recently announced Pentastar engine family, a 3.3 litre version with direct injection and a 3.6 litre with Multiple Displacement System ((MDS). The Pentastar is an all-new design, featuring double-overhead camshafts (DOHC) and a high-pressure die-cast aluminium cylinder block in a 60-degree configuration. The 3.6-liter version will deliver 280 horsepower (209 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 260 lb.-ft. (353 Nm) of torque at 4,800 rpm - an increase of 33 percent in horsepower and 11 percent in torque over its predecessor - while providing an 11 percent fuel economy improvement. "The all-new Pentastar is the most advanced six-cylinder engine Chrysler has ever offered," said Bob Lee, Vice President, Powertrain Product Team. The Phoenix family was conceived with a new 4.7 litre V8 to complement the core V6s. Will this engine be added to Challenger's portfolio of drivetrain options? In a move to apease environmental concerns, Pentastar uses replaceable oil filter elements last seen on automobile engines some 45 to 50 years ago!
